Today my group was reading The crime lab, Animal crime and Challenge in the crime lab.
Today we a summary Animal crime, The crime lab and Challenges in the crime lab. I learnt that in challenge in the crime lab that one million animals a protected by the law. In animal crime people burn Elephant so nobody knows their evidence. In The crime lab I learnt that human is not the only one that could be a crime but animals can be a crime as well.
I am a Year 8 student at Glenbrae School in Auckland, NZ. I am in Room 7and my teachers are Mrs Tofa and Miss Stone.

Science Investigation
Science Investigation
We are learning what plants need to survive
We are learning how plants respond to environmental changes.
What do plants need to survive?
Water
Sun
Soil/ fertilizer/ dirt
Oxygen
Carbon dioxide
We are going to conduct a science investigation to determine what will happen to plants when their environment changes. In this assignment we will be changing the environment of each of the mint plants and the potatoes.
What will we need to make this a fair investigation?
- Lots of plants in case one fails
- Make sure they all get the same amount of sun
- Make sure they still have the other things they need to survive
- Monitor progress every few days - with pictures
- Have a “control” plant, that we do all the right things to.
Method:
- Suffocate a plant - by putting it in a container
- Stop watering a plant
- Take out the soil
- Put in the dark
- Normal plant - the control
Hypothesis:
My hypothesis is that the plant would slowly rot and without the resources needed for it to survive.
The plant I will be observing is: Mint plant.
The looked over plant
Observation day 1:It still look fresh.
Observation day 3:Starting to die.
Observation day 7:No leave is fresh it is dead.
Explanation: Why did this happen to my plant?
Because their was no soil on it and we never feed it with water.

Equivalent Fraction
Equivalent Fractions!
We are learning to add and subtract fractions with like and unlike denominators.
Levi has ¾ of a bag of lollies. If he is given another 3/12 of a bag, what fraction of a bag will he have?
He will get 1 Whole.
If there were 32 lollies in the whole bag, how many lollies does Levi have?
He has 32 Lollies left.
Bob has a 3 3/4 metre of length of wood. He cuts off 2 1/3 metres.
What length of wood is left?
3,9/12 - 2,4/12 = 1,5/12

Chocolate Maths.
WE ARE LEARNING TO find fractions of whole and fixed numbers
How many chocolate bar do 5 people get if there in only 4 chocolate bar?
Each of them will get 4/5 of chocolate.
